What stays local
The financial details entered into the builder are processed in your browser. FinCase does not require an account and does not maintain a server-side database of your case.
How local encryption works
When you review a starting case, the browser creates a non-extractable AES-GCM encryption key using the Web Crypto API. The key and encrypted draft are stored in IndexedDB for this site on this browser.
The encryption key is not protected by a separate passphrase. Its purpose is to avoid storing the case as readable plain text in normal browser storage, not to defend against someone who can run code as this website in the same browser profile.
Privacy-friendly site analytics
FinCase uses Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate site usage, such as page visits. The analytics installation is not intended to receive financial form answers, generated case summaries, prompts, clipboard contents, or free-text financial details.
FinCase does not use advertising pixels, session replay, heatmaps, or automatic form-content capture. Any future product events must follow the strict allow-list documented by FinCase and may contain only coarse operational properties such as market code, readiness state, question-count range, device class, selected provider, or an enumerated feedback outcome.
Closed beta answer comparison
The beta workspace lets a participant paste two AI answers for a private side-by-side comparison. Those answer fields are not persisted, uploaded, or sent to Plausible. They are cleared when the page is left.
The beta record contains only structured selections: better, partly better, or not better; one approved reason; provider; comprehension band; device class; and whether the comparison was completed. Exported session records deliberately omit financial values, prompts, questions, and answer text.
Important limitations
This is browser-local storage, not a recovery service. Clearing site data, resetting the browser profile, or losing the device can permanently remove the case and encryption key. FinCase cannot recover them.
Anyone with access to your unlocked browser profile may be able to open FinCase and decrypt the local draft while the application is running.
When you use another AI service
Copying a FinCase prompt or opening it in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or another service transfers that content to the provider you choose. The provider’s own privacy, retention, account, and training settings apply from that point onward.
Clearing your data
Use “Clear local draft” in the builder to remove both the encrypted draft and its local key. You can also clear storage for fincase.ai through your browser settings.
